Disastrous historical events of Russia’s past result in the loss of many of its exquisite wooden churches; those that remain drift into decay and oblivion. British photographer Richard Davies becomes well-known for his photographs of the disappearing Russian churches. Davies and his Russian friends get deeply involved with efforts to conserve the endangered structures. A plan is hatched for six new bells for an ancient bell tower in a remote northern village, but first how to restore it?
