SYNOPSIS

Turning the lens on the West’s imaginary Africa, from the sketches brought back by the first European adventurers to the eerily similar news and pop culture images that inspire modern voluntourists and celebrity campaigns, WHEN I SAY AFRICA takes a provocative look at enduring stereotypes of the African continent.
